Week 11
Immersive Storytelling
The process and the ideas coming to fruition:
Bart has decided to take it up on his own to create a prototype of the model using aluminium foil on top of the roof to create a conductive interactive button. He has done one before and thought since he has the experience he can easily do it.

This was his version 1 of it , connecting the aluminium foil to a conductive cable then to a computer to see if it works.

He then decided it was not good enough due to it not looking properly and also not working correctly either, and so through peer reviews he decided to create a better version, version 2.5

The whole idea is that the 3D map of the kite could be 3D printed and then for the roofs of certain buildings there can be added a conductive material that when touched it plays either audio clips or video clips of the area/buildings.

Overall, the prototype we created as a group was more than enough to present. We were told that it didn’t have to be perfect, just an idea to pitch, and having it turned into something real felt great. The column with the speaker and projector were elements we really wanted to include, but unfortunately, we couldn’t finish them due to time constraints. It was disappointing, but we still feel proud of what we achieved. If we had more time, we would’ve loved to see those parts come together too, as they would’ve made the concept even stronger.
